[Scene: I'm looking in the rear view mirror while driving and catch Landon slowly transfer a finger from his nose to mouth.]
Me: "Landon, duuuude, no picking boogies and we especially do not eat boogies. Eww, gross."
L: "Well mom, I was just painting the boogers on like lipstick."

Landon's Early Dance Moves
I think I amuse myself too easily. When I was working on Anders' First Year video this week, I came across this old gem from early Landon days. And I laughed and I cooed. And I watched it again and laughed and oohed and awwwed some more.
I never posted it on the blog because I never finished it, but I thought I'd share it. Pardon the abrupt ending. Enjoy!

Toddler Chompers
I've commented faithfully on the adorable appearance of my son's huge beaver teeth (said in the most lovingly way possible), and I will continue to love that smile forever, but a new day is upon us, friends. Landon is sprouting MORE TEETH! Yep, his upper ones next to the central beaver teeth are starting to poke through. This is occurring about two years after some of his peers, but the coolest kids always show up to the party a little late, right?
His last dentist appointment left us in a gray area where we were told he may not have some teeth (happens to about 5-10% of people based on genetics). Even his x-rays were inconclusive. What do they do for kids that don't sprout baby teeth? Nothing. It's a wait and see game. Que sera, sera.
I'm really intrigued to see how his smile turns out over the next few months. I'm just so used to this one for now!

Landon's First Snowman
For those of you who have had the pleasure of being around Landon the last couple months, you already know he has a slight obsession with snowmen. Santa is pretty cool, but a snowman takes the cake any day of the week. He can say the word "snow" and the word "man" independently but he endearingly puts them together as "nomanny." So, yep, I hear the word "nomanny!" shouted about a thousand times a day. It could border on annoying, but his enthusiasm makes up for the repetition.
We were super excited to see snow in the forecast for Grandma's house shortly after our arrival in Maryland over New Years. It didn't snow too much, but it was enough to make a perfect little snowperson.
We all assembled on the back porch and scrounged for the accessories: poison berries for the eyes, old beer bottle caps for buttons, a discarded dinner napkin as a scarf and a Pam cap for a hat. Aunt Schming lovingly wittled down a baby carrot with her teeth, ensuring a pointy end was available for assembly. It was great!

Two Years Old
Well it happened: Landon turned two. It's cliche, but where does the time go? I look at photos from earlier in the year and he looks like a baby, still. I guess he sprouted over the summer or something because now all I see is a little guy growing up way too fast. Enter: Dramatic sigh.
I think Landon is such a great personality (says the mom - big surprise). I think he's awfully smart and charismatic with his smile. He seems very loyal to his small inner circle; he likes giving his best friends hugs but is wary of large groups of kids. He is a little quiet at school, but a chatterbox at home. He has so much confidence these days in his expanding vocabulary that it's causing a perma-smile. Mom and Dad are smiling, too: our ability to communicate with Landon more is leading to noticeable amount of reduced tantrums.
He's just... special. In a lovely, awesome way. We love you, Landon.
